UTair guarantees fuel supply in Moscow airports
UTair Aviation General Director Andrey Martirosov, commenting on the issue of possible jet fuel shortages at Moscow airports as reported in the media, has assured UTair passengers that the airline will have sufficient fuels supplies to conduct operations. ''All UTair flights serviced at Vnukovo and Domodedovo International Airports in Moscow remain as scheduled and will run on time,” he said.
For UTair flights serviced at Vnukovo International Airport, the airline purchases jet fuel directly from LUKOIL-Aero. Vnukovo is UTair's base in Moscow and largest hub of the airline, from which it performs over 170 flights a day. The airline’s supply of fuel is sufficient to operate all flights from Vnukovo in compliance with the established timetables.
“We guarantee that we will fulfill all obligations to our passengers,” said Martirosov.
It is worth noting that UTair is not only one of the country's largest wholesale buyers of jet fuel, but also the leading domestic operator serving the Russian oil and gas industry.
UTair is among the top-three leading passenger airlines in Russia, Eastern Europe, the Baltic States and CIS. According to projections for 2011, the airline will carry more than 7 million passengers. Over 140 UTair aircraft will be involved in achieving operational goals in 2011, including Boeing 757-200, Tu-154M, Boeing 737-800, Boeing 737-500, Boeing 737-400, ATR 72, Bombardier CRJ 200 and ATR 42 aircraft.
